What is 2008 carrying? In the year 2007 God said
that it would be the year where His glory would be revealed like never
before, and we did experience that during the year. The word Exodus
signifies to exit. This year will be the year
of new beginnings. In order for us to step into what God has for us for this
year, we must take His promise and combine it with faith. Hebrews 4 tells us
that the word they heard didn’t mix with faith and it didn’t benefit them.
Therefore, we must combine whatever we hear with faith. We’re going to step
into new beginnings but it’s up to us to take it and step into a different
level.
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.” The birth of the nation of
Israel took place in the book of Exodus. Moses was sent to rescue the people
of Israel during the time of their slavery in Egypt. While Moses was only a
baby, the devil attempted to destroy him, however, the devil could not and
still can’t destroy whatever God has given birth to. The devil tried to do
the same thing when Jesus was born, but was unsuccessful yet again. When God called Moses to
deliver His people, Moses didn’t have the talent or ability to do what he
was being called to do. However, God called him regardless. When God calls
you, He’s not calling you based on your talent, your educational level, your
parents’ relationship with Him etc. He doesn’t call you based on your
ability, but He calls you based on His ability.
Once He calls you, He gives you grace to do what He called you to do. We
need to understand to depend on God’s grace. Paul wrote, “I am what I am
because of God’s grace.” You can’t do things by yourself, you need to depend
on God’s grace. God used Moses to divide
the Red Sea so the people of Israel could cross. The division and crossing
of the Red Sea was a shadow of a born again experience. Moses himself was a
shadow of Jesus, the deliverer. When the angel of death
came through Egypt and killed all the firstborns, the blood on the
Israelites’ doors protected them. The blood on the door was a shadow of the
blood of Jesus. God had His heart on the
Israelites entering the land where milk and honey flows after being freed
from the bondage of Egypt. However, even though the Israelites had
physically gotten out of Egypt, Egypt had never left them so they began
grumbling against the Lord. Even though they were born again, the world
didn’t leave them. They still liked and wanted the things of the world. In the year 2008... 1) We will be delivered
from any bondage that is keeping us from getting closer to God and walking
with Him fully. It will be the year of deliverance depending on any
spiritual bondage. 2) He will make any
provision, He will meet any need. 3) As the Israelites had
the blood of the lamb on their door and they were protected, we will witness
the divine protection of God. The protection of God is arising on us. 4) We’ll get into a place
that looks like it is impossible. It doesn’t matter what is in front of you;
God will divide the sea, raise the valley, and flatten the mountain. 5) Isaiah 43:19
God will do new things in our lives. It will be obvious when He does
new things because we will see the dry ground flood with water. Now what we need to do is
take this, combine it with faith and declare, “This is my year!” Preached
