 The Glory of God

Exodus 25:17-20

Romans 6:3-4

Exodus 33:18

Philippians 3:8-10

Christ was raised by the Glory of His Father. The glory of the Father is the power of His resurrection Paul is talking about. Paul was hungry to know the glory of the Father when he said that he wants to see the power of Jesus’ resurrection.

Paul who wrote a third of the Bible, was the most intact with God, and who preached the most amazing teachings, said that he wanted to know the Father in the power of His resurrection. He said he just wants to see His glory. We are seeing the glory of God through Jesus Christ.

What is glory?

Glory is the goodness of God.

Mercy comes out of goodness, and the glory of God comes out of goodness. The root of glory is God’s goodness.

2 Corinthians 3:7-11- 7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away,  how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?  For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.  For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.

This passage in 2 Corinthians talks about the glory that was in the old testament and the glory that is revealed in the new testament. The Bible calls the glory that was in the old testament “the glory of condemnation.” This means the glory of passing away. The glory now, the Bible defines it as the glory of righteousness. This year is the YEAR OF GLORY! God will show His glory like never before in the year 2007, Glory to God!

God dwells in us now- in our spirit. In the old testament, He dwelt in the most sacred place in the temple. This was physical, He dwelt in the temple. Now, however, he dwells in us! We are the most sacred place. According to 1 Corinthians 3:16, we are God’s temple and God’s spirit lives in us.  This is spiritual, because we are His temple now, not a building.

In the new testament, God has put his Glory in us. We became the beholder of His glory. Now we are like mirrors. When God sees us, He sees His glory reflecting and at the same time when others look at us, the see His glory being reflected through us.

What looks like God about you is your spirit- the spirit that dwells inside of you.

God created us to eternally exist! But the question is where are you going to exist eternally (heaven or hell).
